How to Think About Legal AI

Two years ago, Deloitte predicted that artificial intelligence (AI) would automate about ⅓ of the jobs in the legal sector in the next twenty years.  Which is it? Are lawyers on the brink of extinction, or have the capabilities of AI been vastly oversold? Recently, Eyal Dechter, a cognitive scientist at MIT, judged that AI is still “many, many generations” away from being able to complete the types of tasks that lawyers do. October Community Recap and Upcoming Events

October was a busy month for Ironclad's community! We hosted two Community Dinners for in-house counsels at a private home in Venice, and at the historic Sunday House in Austin. In Venice, DJ Daiana spun soul and funk overhead as guests enjoyed a feast in one of the first conventionally constructed LEED Platinum houses in California. For the latter event, most attendees were in town for the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC)'s Annual Meeting. A mix of lawyers representing retail, advertising, and tech companies across the US dined and connected over a delicious menu featuring sous vide jalapeño hangar steak in Austin's second oldest building, the Sunday House, at the Moonshine Bar & Patio....
